Namibia

The national flag of Namibia contains the colours of the country’s largest ethnic group the Ovambos. The blue and the green are separated by a diagonal red band with white on the edges of the band. On the upper hoist the flag contains the emblem of a golden sun that represents life and energy. The blue colour on the flag represents the Atlantic Ocean and the symbolizes the blue Namibian sky. The white on the flag symbolizes peace and unity of the country. The green on the flag represents the vegetation and the red stands for the people of Namibia. The Namibian Flag was adopted on March 21, 1990.
