Czech Republic

The national flag of Czech Republic was adopted on March 20, 1920.  The flag consists of a white band and a red band with a blue triangle at the hoist.  The flag contains the colours of the ancient Bohemia coat of arms but the colour blue was added to the flag in order to diversify it from the flags of Poland and Austria.  The Czech Republic kept the Czechoslovakian flag from the former Czechoslovakia while the Slovak Republic adopted its own flag.
