Sanaa, Yemen

The national flag of Yemen contains three horizontal strips coloured red, white and black.  The red on the flag represents the bloodshed of martyrs and unity. The white represents a bright future and the black a dark past. The colours are those of Pan-Arabism.  The flag was adopted on May 22, 1990 after North Yemen and South Yemen became one nation.

Thanx - Red
