The flag of Cameroon contains three vertical bands with the traditional Pan-African colours and “the star of unity” in the center. The colours on the flag in the order that they appear on the flag are green, red and yellow. The green on the flag symbolizes the southern forests of Cameroon, the red represents unity and the yellow stands for the sun and the savannahs to the north of the country. Cameroon`s national flag was adopted on May 20, 1975.
