St. GeorgeBarbados

Barbados

The flag of Barbados consists of three vertical strips that are coloured blue on the left, gold in the middle and blue again on the right with a broken trident in the middle.  The blue on the left represents the sky over Barbados, the gold represents the sands of the Island and the blue on the right stands for the sea.  The broken trident in the middle stands for independence from England.  The flag was officially adopted on November 20, 1966 on the country’s first Independence Day.
