Louisiana

The flag of Louisiana contains a blue field with the state seal known as the “pelican in her piety”.  The seal depicts a mother pelican wounding her breast to feed her young. The flags design has been around since 1912 but was adopted in April 2006 when state legislature passed a bill that required all flags and seals to contain the three drops of blood on the pelican.
