The Saudi Arabian flag contains a green field with a white Thuluth script reading “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger”. A white sword under the script demonstrates the importance of the script by underlining it. The flag of Saudi Arabia has been in use since March 15, 1973. In Islam lots of flags are similar to the Saudi Arabian flag but should not be confused with the Saudi Arabian flag that contains the sword.
