Pakistan

The national flag of Pakistan was adopted on August 11, 1947.  The flag contains a dark green field and a white vertical band on the hoist.  On the center there is a depiction of a white crescent moon and a five pointed star.  The crescent represents progress in the country and the star symbolizes light as well as knowledge.  The dark green on the flag represent the Muslim majority of Pakistan and the white on the hoist the other minority religions of the country.
