The national flag of Paraguay is one of the few flags in the world to depict two different emblems on each side of the flag. On the obverse side the flag contains the national coat of arms, which is a five pointed star surrounded by a green wreaths and a red circle that has the words “Republica Del Paraguay” (Republic of Paraguay). On the opposite side is the seal of the national treasury. The flag has three vertical bands coloured red white and blue. Paraguay’s national flag was adopted in 1842.
