Saint Kitts and Nevis
The flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis contains a green triangle and a red triangle separated by a diagonal black band with a yellow border. Inside the black band are two white stars that symbolize hope and liberty. The black on the flag represents the African heritage of the people and the yellow stands for the year round sun. The green represents the island’s fertile soil and the red stands for the people who fought from slavery to independence. The flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was adopted on September 19, 1983.
