Iceland

The flag of Iceland is blue with a red and white Nordic cross.  The colours represent the three elements that make up the island.  The blue is for the Atlantic Ocean and the white represents the ice and snow that cover the land.  The red is for the fire made by the volcanoes on the island.  The national flag of Iceland was adopted on June 17, 1944 after Iceland officially became a republic.
