Colombia

The flag of Colombia contains three horizontal bands. The first band is a yellow band that takes up the top half of the flag. The yellow represents the wealth of the riches offered by the Colombian land. In the middle is a blue band. The blue on this band stands for the seas on Colombia`s shores.  The band at the bottom is red, to represent the bloodshed on the battlefields by those who fought to gain Colombia’s independence.  The national flag of Colombia was adopted on November 26, 1861.
